Despite the obvious signs of skin that looks and feels rough, other signs and symptoms to look out for include feelings of tightness, itchiness, scaling or peeling, and fine lines or cracks. Dry skin can affect any part of your body, most commonly your legs, arms and hands. So, what’s the secret to keeping your skin soft and supple this winter? REDUCE SHOWER TEMPERATURE
Who doesn’t love to get into a steaming hot shower or bath on a cold winter’s day? While it can feel great, standing under steaming hot water can dry out the moisture and oils in your skin. When possible, a 5 – 10 minute warm shower is best and less likely to damage and dry out the skin. You should also avoid using excessively hot water when washing your hands, as this will cause them to look shrivelled and flaky.
DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
As I am sure you are aware, drinking plenty of water is vital for skin hydration. However, people often forget how important it is, especially in the colder months.
